At ABC Health Care, we are committed to the health and safety of our patients and our employees. Due to the current Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, ABC Health Care is adhering to the direction of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to provide clinical care through the use of telehealth and other non-contact method As a result, we introduced several changes to our existing business model. Please review the changes to our operations below so you will understand how they might impact you.
Branch Offices Are CLOSED To The General Public - In order to ensure our office spaces and staff remain infection free, ABC will not allow entry by the general public. Only patients with pre-scheduled appointments will be allowed entry. Otherwise, patient interaction with ABC staff will be limited to telephone, telehealth services, and/or “curbside services”.
Operational Hours Remain Unchanged - ABC Health Care is an "Essential Business or Operation" within the meaning of Governor Northam’s COVID-19 Executive Order 53 issued on March 23, 2020 (Executive Order). As such, ABC Health Care is open Monday through Friday 9:00 am to 5:00 pm and our staff is available by phone and telehealth services.
Medical Equipment Shipments Will Continue As Normal - Patients that normally receive medical supplies via UPS, FedEx, USPS will continue to receive those supplies as normal. However, due to the strain the shipping services are under, you should anticipate potential delays.
New Equipment Deliveries - ABC will be providing new medical equipment via shipping services (UPS, FedEx, USPS). For equipment that is too large for a shipping carrier, ABC delivery technicians will deliver it to your door without entering your home. In the event our employee requires access inside of your home, they will enter under the protection of full personal protective equipment (PPE). Due to the national shortage of PPEs, ABC reserve the right to not enter a patient’s home due to the requirement to use PPEs.
Telehealth Services Are Being Used Wherever Possible - ABC is using available technology to conduct patient appointments, education, triaging, and monitoring. In preparation for your telehealth appointment, you can download the web conferencing software using this link (CLICK HERE) from our telehealth service provider, 8x8.
Oxygen Patient & Portable Tank Service Changes - COVID-19 is a serious respiratory disease that requires oxygen & respiratory medical equipment to successfully treat. As a result, ABC Health Care has introduced steps to conserve oxygen supplies in preparation for potential urgent community needs. In addition, based on the guidance by the CDC, any patient with existing respiratory conditions should remain home. It is for those reasons that ABC Health Care is implementing the following policies for Oxygen patients (printable version available here):
Patients are instructed to NOT use portable tanks for any reason other than transportation for essential services (food, utility, medical, etc.)
Unless medically necessary, portable tanks should NOT be used within the home
Portable tanks will be allocated to patients based on historical usage and available supplies
Portable tank exchanges will be completed at your local ABC office using our “curbside service”
ALL portable tank exchange requests need to be made BY PHONE with our Oxygen Department PRIOR TO ARRIVAL
New Employee Sourcing Is On Hold - ABC Health Care has frozen all pending and previously “open” employment opportunities until further notice.
If you need urgent medical assistance, please call 911. If you have any other questions about these COVID-19 policy changes or how they may impact your ability to access medical equipment, please contact your ABC Health Care office and ask to speak to a member of our team.
Thank you.
